About

Restoration Bench is run by Michael Mathes, owner of Music City Laser Cleaning LLC in Hendersonville, Tennessee. I do mobile laser cleaning with an XlaserLab Q1 handheld laser and also offer media blasting and sandblasting.

The guides are written with input from that hands-on work. Because I use several methods, I try to recommend whatever actually fits the job, including doing it yourself. Facts are checked against manufacturer documentation and sources like OSHA, the EPA and the National Park Service where possible.
